Oktoberfest is usually held on the second Saturday in October in Downtown Williamsport. This is a one day, fun filled family event with something for everyone. Artists and Crafters line portions of Pine Street selling their products. A stage is set up for the local children's dance groups. The children's section has pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, Halloween crafts for kids, story telling by the James V. Brown Library and more.

There is plenty of good food throughout the streets provided by the local restaurants including many German dishes.

The afternoon events kick-off with the happy melodies of a German Band and Singers. The Bavarian Games commence which include many events of skill and daring by the local Bartenders and Wait Staffs.

Although we were plagued by rain in the early morning, by Noon we were able to get started. Hundreds turned out in spite of the weather to make this year's event a fun filled family day in Downtown.
